Implementation of an Enrolment Scheme at Milson School

To avoid overcrowding, or the likelihood of overcrowding, the Milson School Board has implemented an Enrolment Scheme that has been developed by the Secretary for Education.

Under this scheme, students will be entitled to enrol if they live within the home zone. The enrolment scheme, which includes a precise description of the home zone, may be viewed at the school office and on the school website.

The enrolment of out-of-zone students is governed by the provisions of the Education and Training Act 2020.

Enrolment at Milson School for the remainder of 2025

The Milson School Board has determined that for Term 4 2025 there are likely to be up to 3 out-of-zone places at New Entrant level. The exact number of places will depend on the number of applications received from students who live within the school’s home zone. There are currently no out–of-zone places at other year levels.

Applications for Term 4 2025 will close on 10 October 2025. If the number of out-of-zone applications exceeds the number of places available students will be selected by ballot to be held on 13 October 2025. Parents will be advised of the result of their application by the end of Wednesday 15 October 2025.

Enrolment at Milson School for 2026

The Milson School Board has determined that for 2026 there are likely to be up to 22 out-of-zone places at the New Entrant level. The exact number of places will depend on the number of applications received from students who live within the school’s home zone. There are currently no out–of-zone places at other year levels.

Applications for 2026 will close on Friday 10 October 2025. If the number of out-of-zone applications exceeds the number of places available students will be selected by ballot to be held on Monday 13 October 2025. Parents will be advised of the result of their application by the end of Wednesday 15 October 2025.

The Milson School Board will continue to monitor the school roll and should additional places become available during the course of the year they will be advertised midway through each preceding term.
